Fair swaps, even when the values don’t quite match
If the thing you want is worth a little more than what you offer, you add Tradeocoins. The person with the more valuable item receives them and can use them on something else in the app.
Tradeocoins cannot be exchanged back into money. The top-up in a single swap can be at most 1,000 Tradeocoins.

We are four founders studying entrepreneurship and business development. We met during freshers’ week, became good friends, and decided to build something together.

Background
From Kristiansand, where he went to Kristiansand Cathedral School. Studies entrepreneurship and business development. Deeply engaged in society, with a particular interest in leadership, business development and economics.
Experience
Elected to the board of Kristiansand Young Conservatives at 14 and later became second deputy chair. Has also served on the executive committee of Agder Young Conservatives, which gave solid organisational and political experience. Has worked at Playworld, in a warehouse and at Infografikk (Apple Premium Reseller).

Background
From Bærum, where she took the sports programme at Nadderud upper secondary school. Studies entrepreneurship and business development. Creative, with a strong interest in fashion, reuse and redesign, and already had her own YouTube channel about redesigning old clothes in primary school. Very interested in artificial intelligence and uses AI actively in building Tradeo.
Experience
At 16, won an entrepreneurship competition run by DNB with the app idea “Ditt Neste Bytte” (Your Next Swap), the idea Tradeo builds on. Started a small business with a friend in lower secondary school, and was part of the costume team for the school revue, which got a top review in Aftenposten. Works in a café today and has previously worked at Build-A-Bear and Ringo in customer service and sales.

Background
Grew up in Sweden, with Swedish, Danish and Norwegian roots. Studies business development and entrepreneurship at BI in Oslo. Took economics and law in upper secondary school, has completed a college course in project management and studied for half a year in London. Social, positive and curious.
Experience
Received a diploma for her own student company in upper secondary school. Has worked in a kindergarten, a shop, customer service, a restaurant and a hotel, which gave her broad experience with teamwork, communication and meeting many different people.
CL
Background
From Kristiansand. Has always had a strong interest in clothes, fashion and trends, and has been into fashion for as long as she can remember. Enjoys exploring different styles and forms of expression.
Experience
Has worked in the clothing industry since she was 15, with experience from both physical shops and online stores. This has given her solid insight into customer service, sales, e-commerce and how the clothing industry works. Still works with clothes and online retail alongside her current job in the jewellery trade.

When is the app coming?
We are putting the finishing touches on the app, and it will come to the App Store for iPhone first. An Android version on Google Play will follow later. We will announce the dates here.
What does Tradeo cost?
Creating an account, listing items, sending messages and swapping are all free.

Any top-up in Tradeocoins is held by us until both of you have confirmed receipt. If something goes wrong, report it in the app or here, and we will look into it.

Terms of use
The terms apply to the use of the Tradeo app. You see the full text in the app before you create an account, and it will be published here when the app launches. These are the main points. The Norwegian version of the terms is the one that applies.
Who can use Tradeo
You must be at least 18. Tradeo is for private individuals: you can swap things you have used yourself or no longer need, but not resell goods or swap on behalf of a shop.
What it costs
Creating an account, listing items, sending messages and completing swaps are all free.
Swaps
When you agree on a swap, the agreement is between the two of you. You agree on condition, time and place of handover, and any shipping, yourselves.
Tradeocoins and top-ups
- Tradeocoins even out differences in value in swaps, and can never be exchanged back into money.
- The top-up is locked when the swap is accepted, and released when both of you have confirmed receipt.
- If you don’t confirm within 10 days of delivery, the swap is treated as completed.
- The top-up in a single swap can be at most 1,000 Tradeocoins.
What you can’t list
Stolen or counterfeit goods, weapons, drugs, alcohol and tobacco, prescription medicines, live animals and anything else that is illegal or dangerous. Luxury items are checked before they are shown to others.
If something goes wrong
Report it in the app before the deadlines run out. The swap is then locked, and we look into it. If you disagree with a decision we have made, you can appeal to hjelp@tradeoapp.com within 6 months.

When you send a form
We process what you fill in: name, email, and where given, username, company and phone number, together with your message. We only use this to reply to you and follow up your enquiry. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). The form is sent through the Web3Forms service, which forwards it to us by email.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry for as long as we need it to follow up, and delete it afterwards.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no ad tracking. The fonts are stored on the website itself, so your visit is not passed on to Google or anyone else.
Hosting
The website is hosted by Netlify. Like any website, the server records technical information such as IP address and browser to deliver the page and protect it against abuse. Netlify and Web3Forms are US companies, so the information may be processed outside the EEA.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction of and deletion of the information we hold about you, and object to our processing of it. Email hjelp@tradeoapp.com.
